My story

Early Stages: Gaming and the Spark of Curiosity 🕹️

As far back as I can remember, I've always been curious about the magic how these non-tangible things called software were able to be incorporated into hardware to make a fully functioning system . 💫 My tech adventure began when my dad brought home a Pentium 3 machine. My brother and I dove headfirst into video games, starting with classics like Purble Place and Spider Solitaire. Fast forward, we found ourselves racing in Need for Speed, scoring goals in Winning Eleven, and causing chaos in Grand Theft Auto (3, IV, and San Andreas). Ah, those were the days! 🎮

From childhood, I knew tech was my calling, even when it wasn't the popular choice. I was that kid who got excited on days we had ICT lessons.

University and the Tech Awakening 🎓

After high school, I continued my tech journey, majoring in computer engineering. The start was a rollercoaster—everything seemed abstract, and practical experiences were rare. Anxiety and self-doubt crept in. 🎢But then came a turning point! I stumbled upon the Robotics club, a true game-changer. This club introduced me to the world of IoT projects, i worked on a plethora of projects from a remote water quality monitoring to smart homes with solar trackers and AI weather stations. I even won tech competitions and was named the school's most innovative female student 🏆.

Finding My True Calling: Focusing on Software Development 🌐

In high school, I pursued General Science, with only a handful of like-minded students. It was a bit of a tech desert, but I found a way to stay true to my passion. I ran for an unexpected leadership role, Entertainment Prefect, all while being an introvert. 😅 Guess what? It worked, and I became the cool kid on campus, walking around with a laptop cables and screwdrivers without repercussions.

Finding My True Calling: Focusing on Software Development 🌐

During my time at the Robotics club, I discovered where my true passion lay—building software products. The tech world is vast, and it's easy to get lost. I realized I needed focus. So, I delved into frontend development, learning from YouTube videos and engaging with fellow tech enthusiasts.I noticed something interesting: many developers lacked design skills. I, too, had dabbled in Photoshop and PicsArt in the past but hadn't grasped the importance of design principles. Then came a breakthrough—I joined a UI/UX design bootcamp organized by Ashesi University students. Suddenly, I understood how software development began, why details mattered, and how design could affect someone's mood. Accessibility tools became essential in every project.

As my journey continued, I had the incredible opportunity to work professionally with companies like CloudPort Ghana Limited and Sidakye Solutions for two years. These experiences enriched my skill set and allowed me to apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios. Online courses like the Google UX certificate and insights from professional designers on social media filled my toolkit. I immersed myself in the art of UI/UX design. 🎨

And that's how I've come this far in my tech journey! The rest, as they say, is history. Thanks for joining me on this adventure! 🚀😄
